Psalm 11:3 (KJV), “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
All firsts belong to God. Remember, God has a divine accurate order and arrangement of things… That is what The Principle of First Fruits means.
Foundations means, “a basis.” PUTTING GOD FIRST in ALL things is the basis or underlying support for your success in all things. Let’s look at our life closely and ask, “Is God Really First?”
Psalm 26:2 (MSG), “Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out.”
Matthew 6:25-34, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought (heb = Don’t be anxiously careful) for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added (Greek: to place in additionally, to lay beside, repeat, increase) unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 6:33, ”But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:31-34 (MSG), “What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”
34) “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
The Bible references first fruits or first things or devoted things no less than 32 times… “When you come into the land which I gave you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest” (Leviticus 23:9-10).
The first represents the total. All firsts belong to God! and there is a reason why… “Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow…” (Proverbs 3:9–10 NKJV). Blessings flow through your obedience!
I declare that your obedience to honoring God will cause your barns to be filled with plenty and your vats to overflow throughout 2022/5782 in the name of Jesus! I declare NEW blessing over your house, as you are leaving what is old and entering what is new— let it be filled with blessing and abundance!
This divine establishment of God’s order is actually the root, the foundation that governs the rest. “For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches” (Romans 11:16 NKJV).
God claims the FIRST of ALL THINGS! It rightfully belongs to Him.
When we apply the Principle of First Fruits, we see that all firsts should be given to the Lord: the first of the day, week (Sabbath), month, and the first of our harvest. It is a principle… Jesus declared, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness… all these things will be added to you,” (Matthew 6:33). God adds the “things” to you when the foundation is in place to be built upon.
When we honor God with our FIRST FRUITS, He will unlock everything for the remainder of the year-
C.S. Lewis said, “When FIRST things are put FIRST… Second things are not suppressed but increased”
- God tells us in His Word “to SEEK,” which means (by implication) “To Worship.”
- “Worship” means, “To build a life that denotes His worth, honor & reverence.”
- “First” (Greek) means, “Foremost or first in time, place & order of importance”
THE KINGDOM OF GOD means, “Who God is & His WAY of doing things.”
How do we “Seek God”?
- Through His Word,
- Spending time with Him,
Joshua 1:8 (NIV), “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
“People who DON’T know God and the WAY He works fuss over these things…”
The more we know about God, the stronger our faith becomes, the better our life becomes.
Romans 10:17, “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God!”
Are you ready to honor God?
