Understanding God’s principles, timing, and rhythms

God is a God of TIMING

In Ecclesiastes 3:1 it states, “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” It is important to understand that God is a God of timing. Things just don’t happen at random. God doesn’t just make things up as He goes along.

God is strategic. He has a plan. He is calculated and concise.

Notice in Ecclesiastes 3:1 it says “To everything..” and “…to every purpose…” Timing does not just apply sometimes. There is no guessing involved on our part. If a thing has a purpose, then it has a time or a season.

Just like how we measure a day by the rotation of the earth… time is cyclical. Just like how we measure a month by the lunar cycles… time is cyclical. Just like how we measure a year by the revolution of the earth’s orbit around the sun… time is cyclical.

The cycles and repeating patterns show themselves evident even in our practical everyday living.

Our cycle of sleep refreshes us with rest
Our weekly cycle marks days of work and days of rest
A woman’s biological cycle determines the timing of procreation
Our weather cycles cause plants to grow and yield crops and fruit

Everywhere there is life, there is a cycle or pattern that was established before its existence.

Timing and cycles are so significant to us, is it so strange, then, to think that timing and cycles apply to us spiritually? Wouldn’t it make sense that God, in His infinite wisdom, have something to say to us about divine timing, seasons, and patterns?

When you begin to study the feasts of God, the appointments of God, you quickly begin to see how significant the TIMES and SEASONS are.

The Eternal Perspective of Time

Right now as you read this sentence, you are “IN” time. Where you are right now in this sliver of time called the “present”. It is in the present where you and I exist. Constantly our present is moving and changing. As the seconds and the minutes and the hours tick away on the clock, the present moment is moving and changing. The present that is no longer here is now the past. The present that is still to come is the future.

Because we are “IN” time, the past is a memory and the future is hidden. In our perspective, time can seem linear… as though time were a straight line going in both directions of the past and the future. For us, the beginning is our birth and the end is our death. Our birth marks the moment that we “clock in” to time and our death marks the moment we return to God.

Now we know that God is eternal. God has no beginning and he has no end. God is not “IN” time as we are in time. To God, all of time exists all at once. God is able to see the past and the future just as clear as we can see the present moment.

To God, time is not a straight line. Time is cyclical. Time is GENERATIONAL.

God intended blessings of one generation to be passed & connected to the next generation… and the next…and the next… and the next …and the next …UNTIL the fullness of HIS PURPOSE is manifested in a family, in a community, in a nation, and finally in the world.

God’s Appointment with You

When you make plans with someone to meet them on a certain date at a certain time at a certain place… you have an appointment. Appointments are meetings or events in your life that you make an effort not to forget. You want to make sure that you don’t miss your appointment. Now if you have an appointment with someone important, you look forward to that appointment. You plan for that appointment. You let nothing get in the way of you making that appointment.

Imagine you had an appointment to meet with the president of the United States at the White House. The president is an important person. Meeting the president is the opportunity of a lifetime for most people. You would find a way to get to the White House on that day. You would make sure that you show up on time. You would set that time apart. You would bring your family with you. You would follow the set protocol of meeting the president. This would be an appointment you would NOT want to miss!

There is someone who has an appointment with you 7 times a year that is far more important that any political figure, or any other created being you can think of. God himself has on His calendar to meet with you 7 times a year. Just like an appointment at the White House…

They have a date.
They have a time.
You should set that time apart.
You should bring your family
You should follow the set protocol.

In Hebrew, there are 3 words used for these special days God has designated.

“Mo’ed” = which means = “A season or an appointed time”. Just as the creator made the sun, moon & stars for times & seasons (Gen 1:14)… He also pinpointed times on the calendar when His people must set time apart with Him. Away from the normal business of life.
“Mikrah” = “Holy convocation, a sacred assembly, or even a rehearsal of God’s past, present & future acts” (Each feast is remembering or foreshadowing an aspect of the ministry of Jesus)
“Chag” = “A festive celebration”

All of these biblical celebrations contain deep treasures of understanding. They unveil the LORD’S intense desire for fellowship with you and show us a picture of His eternal redemptive purposes on earth. There is GREAT REWARD for those who love to celebrate these appointed times voluntarily.

Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 9:16-17 “Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me” (NIV).

Paul had to preach the gospel as part of his “Life Assignment & destiny from God”. Others who preached voluntarily, might have reaped great reward for doing so, but Paul HAD to do so.

It is a HEART issue of desiring closer intimacy and relationship with God. Not out of “LEGALISM” as though you are forced to do so, but instead out of obedience with a heart that says “I WANT TO & GET TO.”

The Enemy’s Plan of Distraction

The enemy plots and schemes to break into your life cycle to divert you from God’s divine purpose. Generationally, the enemy will try to bring death, destruction, and pain. The same patterns and curses your fore fathers struggled with, the enemy will try in interject into your life and the lives of your children.

However, there are “God moments” given to us to confront & change a destructive pattern in our generations. God’s patterns and principles deliver us from the plots and schemes of the enemy. You do not have to live defeated. Jesus provided a way for us to have life and life more abundantly.

We are entering into one of the most exciting, life-changing, miracle-working seasons of the whole year – the Passover, Easter, and Resurrection Season! It is a part of your spiritual heritage that God designed as His own Holy Days with specific instructions given for their observance.

Have I got your attention? Are you ready? These are God’s APPOINTED HOLY DAYS with specific instructions by Him for their observance as recorded in Deuteronomy 16:16:

“Three times a year all your males (and females) shall appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread,(Passover) at the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), and at the Feast of Tabernacles (Atonement); and THEY SHALL NOT APPEAR BEFORE THE LORD EMPTY-HANDED.”

Passover begins at sundown on April 15th!

In Exodus 12:13 God declared: “Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

God told Moses in Exodus 12:24: “And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance FOREVER!”

Leviticus 23:2 reveals just how important these feast seasons are to God: “concerning the feasts of the lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are MY feasts.” They are not to be taken lightly or ignored as ancient history. Each one is a set time when God wants to release very specific blessings into our lives that are only available this one time every year.

Everyone who enters into this holy celebration of Passover is commanded to NOT come empty-handed. Because when you honor God during Passover with your best offering, He will release His blessings and fill you to overflowing.

Through the Blood of Jesus Christ this Passover season and your obedience to align yourself with the desires of God, YOU CAN RELEASE 7 SPECIFIC SUPERNATURAL BLESSINGS for your body, your family, your finances, and your future. As we read in Exodus 23, when you honor God during this Passover and Easter season, He will:

Assign an angel to you “Behold, I send an Angel before you…” (verse 20).
Be an enemy to your enemies “I will be an enemy to your enemies…” (verse 22).
Give you prosperity “So you shall serve the LORD, your God, and He will bless your bread and your water” (verse 25).
Take sickness away from you “And I will take sickness away from the midst of you” (verse 25).
Give you a long life “I will fulfill the number of your days” (verse 26).
Bring increase and inheritance “… until you have increased, and you inherit the land” (verse 30).
Give a special year of blessing (verse 29).

You position yourself to receive all seven blessings by obeying the two acts of sacrifice God commanded His people that first Passover… and commands US to do “FOREVER”.

God gave us His best, Jesus Christ, our Passover Lamb, at Calvary. I encourage you in obedience to give God your VERY BEST Passover and Easter Resurrection offering today, just as God gave HIS VERY BEST. Your obedience to God’s command is the key that can unlock the windows of heaven and release all seven supernatural blessings He has promised into your life!
