God has to raise up special people for special times

Last week I began teaching on “The 5 R’s (The Shunammite Woman), we are continuing that today,Partnering with The Right People.”

Sometimes in life you can’t afford NOT to have your Covenant Connection. Relationships are the currency of the kingdom and the network of life.

When God goes to bless you, He sends a person into your life. When the enemy wants to mess you up… he sends a person into your life. It is imperative to be “spiritually connected” to the right people!

These “spiritual connections” are the connections that are “God-ordained” to release His glory and fulfill His plan & purpose (individually and corporately).

Can you see the “gift of God” in your life? Without proper perception we cannot discern the gifts God gives us. God has to raise up special people for special times.

  • The times will dictate the strength He has His hand on them.
  • God has pre-figured who He will put His hand upon for a particular season.
  • Everyone who is gifted was gifted (called) before they were ever born.

The enemy cannot deny the expression of the gift because he would have to go back into eternity & disconnect the immutable plan of God… and God prepared His people for the time before they were released.

Once God reveals the gift in the gifted, all hell breaks loose! Therefore, can I “see”, perceive or recognize the gift, in spite of the package it comes in?

The Shunammite woman (2 Kings) had the ability to (5 R’s), *Last week we went over the first 2:

1.  RECOGNIZE  her divine connection: (2 KINGS 4:9)- 9And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.”

Perceive: to ascertain by observing or seeing.

People who recognized opportunity to connect to their deliverance:

    • Ruth – Naomi
    • Jonathan – David
    • John the Baptists – Jesus
    • Israelites – Moses

People who did not recognize:

    • Joesph’s brothers
    • David’s brothers
    • Israelites spies

It cost them all something for NOT recognizing…

2.  SHE RESOLVED” to do something to move  from contact to connection.

2 KINGS 4:8 – she constrained him. “Constrained” (Hebrew): to seize; to fasten upon; to cleave.

2 Kings 4:10, “Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.”

*Today we will continue:

He resolution to connect positioned her to be able to:

3. RECEIVE

  • SHE NOW HAD ACCESS
  • SHE NOW HAD ACCEPTANCE – “FAVOR”
  • SHE NOW HAD IMPARTATION

2 KINGS 4:13, “And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.”

She created her own opportunity!

Mediocrity is the enemy to greatness. It will keep you complacent – Doing nothing, Going nowhere. When she (the Shunammite Woman) had the opportunity for “GREATNESS,” she moved from passive to purpose…

4. SHE RETURNED” TO IT

2 KINGS 4:18-21, “And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers. 19And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother. 20And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. 21And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.”

WHEN THE PROMISE DIED – SHE LAID IT ON HER OWN SEED! She put her problem on a level that it could be touched… the relationship she had invested in.

Which brings her full:

5. THE RESTORATION

2 KINGS 8:1-6, “Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years. 2And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years. 3And it came to pass at the seven yearsend, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land. 4And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done. 5And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life. 6And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”
