Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County, Republic of Liberia — On Monday July 27, Pastor Paula White-Cain was conferred the Grand Band, Star of Africa (GBSA), one of the Republic of Liberia’s highest national orders of distinction, during official ceremonies observing the 179th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Liberia. The honor was awarded by the President of the Republic and presented in the presence of the entire Liberian Government and distinguished dignitaries at the Unification Pavilion in Buchanan City.
The Order of the Star of Africa is one of Liberia’s most prestigious national honors, traditionally reserved for heads of state, senior government officials, and individuals — Liberian and international — who have made an exceptional and lasting contribution to the nation. The Grand Band is the order’s highest rank, placing recipients among a distinguished class of honorees recognized for extraordinary service to Liberia.
Upon receiving the honor, Pastor Paula reflected on the significance of the moment:
“I am so honored and humbled to share this moment. I do not take this lightly. To stand before the President, the entire Government, and distinguished dignitaries of this great nation and be recognized in this way — I can only give God the glory.”
She extended her gratitude directly to the nation and its leadership:
“To the President and the people of the Republic of Liberia – thank you, from the depths of my heart. You have allowed me to be a part of your story, your healing, and your future. And I will continue to stand with this nation – in prayer, in purpose, and in love.”
The recognition reflects Pastor Paula’s ongoing commitment and relationship with Liberia and the broader African continent, where she has invested in ministry, humanitarian outreach, and prayer initiatives for over 30 years.
