Pastor Paula White-Cain believes faith is a powerful force multiplier…
This principle was in full display September 11-13 when Pastor Paula White-Cain led the White House Office of Faith and Opportunity Initiative and a delegation of its experienced faith directors from HUD, VA, Agriculture, Commerce and Labor to Puerto Rico to meet with the island’s faith leaders. The event was coordinated with the Faith Office of the Governor and attended by the faith directors from the island’s 78 municipalities.
Over a three-day period, Pastor Paula and her DC faith team went nonstop listening to the stories of communities affected by Hurricane Maria and doing site visits in the cities of Ponce, Canonovas and Toa Alta. Each site visit included a listening session meeting with the mayor and the cities administrative team.
Pastor Paula and her team were invited to the Governor’s Mansion for a private meeting with Gov. Ricardo Rossello. The governor was honored to have a delegation from the Center of Faith and Opportunity Initiatives in Puerto Rico. The goal of this historic visit is to produce long-lasting relationships that will help Puerto Rico experience its best days ever. As the Governor’s director of Faith based office Hector Alberterio said, “This visit has made us feel that we are not alone, and we have friends who care enough to grieve with us, see for themselves our needs, and help is get back on our feet.”
Pastor Paula and PWM are dedicated to helping the hurting and restore the beautiful people of Puerto Rico.
