On June 29 and 30th Paula White Ministries (PWM) teamed up with The National Faith Advisory Board (NFAB) to host the National Faith Leaders Border Forum in El Paso Texas. Pastors from across the country flew into El Paso to join a mass of local pastors to hear a State of the Border address from experts on the border. Representatives from the Texas National Guard, Texas Department of Public Safety and the United States Border Patrol gave updates, insights and perspectives on the border that are rarely covered by mainstream media.
The evening was highlighted by hearing from the newly appointed head of Border Patrol, Chief Jason Owens and former head of Border Patrol and retired Acting Director of ICE Ron Vitiello. The forum was capped off by Pastor Paula praying over the law enforcement officers in attendance and then presenting a Gold Star family an all expense paid vacation to Orlando, FL in honor of their husband and father’s sacrifice to our country.
In addition to the forum, Pastor Paula led a delegation of NFAB pastors on a behind the scenes tour of the Border Patrol Processing Center and then with a Congressional Line and Wall Tour, both hosted by the US Border Patrol.
The Thursday and Friday events were filled with the latest border information, but were made complete with two major compassion projects. PWM and NFAB teamed up with compassion partner CityServe International (CSI) to tangibly show the love of Jesus to those on the border. Border Patrol agent’s families are very close to the heart of Pastor Paula and on Thursday evening the PWM, NFAB and CSI trio put together a free shopping experience for border patrol spouses and children where they were able to shop for clothing, toys, electronic and household items. The estimated $200,000 of new, donated items came from CityServe’s warehouse in Dallas and from Pastor Paula’s CityServe warehouse in Florida.
The National Faith Leaders Border Forum ended with a bang as the delegation put on a fun-filled afternoon at the El Paso Rescue Mission Migrant Center. Three migrant centers came together to experience love in action from Pastor Paula and friends. The newly released migrants heard a hope-filled message from Pastor Paula where countless numbers of parents and children received Jesus Christ as their Savior! After receiving the greatest gift, every child received toys and parents received their own free shopping experience where they were able to get new under garments and outerwear. The laughter of children filled the air as they slid down water slides, ate ice cones and were able to be kids again thanks to the Pastor Paula’s friends at the El Paso Baptist Association.
