October 6th - 13th

The Feast of Tabernacles

Leviticus 23:33-38 (The Feast of Tabernacles): "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:"

Leviticus 23:39: “when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days.”

Rejoice before the Lord your God, for seven days, celebrate. This is a festival to the Lord for seven days each year. This has to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come…

It is a time of celebration FOR YOU, beginning at sundown October 6th-13th and corresponds to the fall grain harvest in Israel where God’s people received provision for the coming year from the Lordand now a time of celebration and blessings for you.

God has set divine appointments – arranged moments to honor Him & remember Him as instructed (Leviticus 23:2)… We are in God’s third and final MIRACLE-WORKING SEASON RIGHT NOW!

What does Tabernacles mean for us today? It’s all about the joy of the Lord. It’s about God being your provider, your protector, and his presence being with you. This is a rehearsal for us as New Testament believers. The other two feast seasons have been fulfilled- Passover and Pentecost. But as we look to this, we look for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a time to reset. This is a time to divinely align ourselves with God, His plan, his purpose.

As we recently observed, Yom Kippur, or “Atonement,” allowed us to remember God’s sacrifice for our sins and the blessing of redemption. As we recognize the mercy of God through the finished work of the cross, we positioned ourselves to receive HIS GOODNESS! God then has positioned His “Feast of Tabernacles” as a “celebration” for your year to come DO NOT let this pass you by!

Why do we focus on bringing offerings to God on these feast days? TWO REASONS:

  1. He instructs it- The Tabernacles offering is from His Word (Lev 23, Deut 16, Ex 30).
  1. It is for our gainBecause the difference between the season you are in and the season you want to enter, is in an instruction from God. This is how God designed it and it works! It is not a “salvation” issue, you’re saved through the cross of Christ. This is an “honor” issue, a “principle” issue.

And we honor the Lord because of who He is with gratitude. His Word teaches us that we are to observe His third and final Holy season of the year, The Feast of Tabernacles, October 6th-13th:

“In addition to the Sabbath, these are the LORD’s appointed festivals, the official days for holy assembly that are to be celebrated at their proper times each year (Leviticus 23).

“…You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the LORD

(Leviticus 23).

“This shall be a lasting ordinance for you(Leviticus 16:34).

As you honor God during THIS DIVINE APPOINTMENT OF TABERNACLES as He has instructed, you align yourself with the goodness of God, allowing spiritual opportunities of His blessings & benefits to be released into your life!

The Feast of Tabernacles, also called Sukkot, which means “booths” (the Jewish people to this day build temporary “booths” on their property to remember God’s supernatural provision through their 40 years in the wilderness between leaving Egypt and entering Canaan land), and corresponds with the joy and blessings that come with a new beginning and clean slate.

The Feast Seasons are always looking forward. Sukkot is looking to the year ahead and the coming of our Lord Jesus.

For New Testament believers, its importance and meaning are multi-faceted, encompassing prophetic, spiritual, and practical dimensions:

  1. Biblical Foundation and Prophetic Meaning:
  • The Feast of Tabernacles is the final feast in God’s holy atonement season, following Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). It is a time of joy, celebration, and remembrance of God’s provision, protection, and presence.
  • In the Old Testament, it commemorated God’s faithfulness in providing for the Israelites during their wilderness journey, symbolized by dwelling in temporary shelters (booths).
  • Prophetically, for New Testament believers, the Feast of Tabernacles points to the future return of Jesus Christ and the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promises, including the millennial reign and eternal dwelling with God.

  1. Spiritual Significance for New Testament Believers:
  • The feasts are described as “rehearsals” or divine appointments, reminding believers of God’s covenant and the blessings available through Jesus Christ.
  • The Feast of Tabernacles is a time to “reset” and realign with God’s plan and purpose, reflecting on His faithfulness and the finished work of Christ.
  • It emphasizes the “divine exchange” accomplished by Jesus: He took on sin, shame, and poverty so that believers could receive righteousness, blessing, acceptance, and abundance.
  • The feast is a reminder that God is a covenant-keeping God, and that through Christ, believers have access to God’s presence, provision, and protection.
  • It calls believers to live lives marked by repentance, gratitude, generosity, and expectation of God’s supernatural intervention.

  1. Practical Application and Call to Action:
  • The Feast of Tabernacles is a season of celebration, sacrificial giving, and honoring God with offerings, reflecting the joy and gratitude for His blessings.
  • Believers are encouraged to remember and appropriate the finished work of Christ, trusting God for provision, restoration, and protection in the year ahead.
  • The feast also serves as a reminder to focus on eternal treasures rather than earthly concerns, to share the gospel, and to live out faith in practical ways—serving others, praying, and being a blessing.
  • It is a time to celebrate God’s faithfulness, to give generously, and to participate in the ongoing work of ministry and outreach.

In summary, for New Testament believers, the Feast of Tabernacles is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness, the fulfillment of His promises in Christ, and the call to live in joyful expectation, generosity, and alignment with God’s purposes. It is both a celebration of what God has done and a prophetic rehearsal for what is yet to come.

I am believing that those who honor God will see fullness and fruitfulness in your life— just like in Joel 2:18,19:

Joel 2:18,19 (The Lord’s Answer), “Then the Lord was jealous for his land and took pity on his people. The Lord replied to them: “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully…”

We give, not out of obligation or to receive something in return, but as an act of gratitude and reverence for all God has done for you!
