Exodus 25:8, “And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.”

This strategic statement articulates the desire of God, who has chosen to reveal Himself to mankind. The Benevolent Father Who has given to His kingly children the honor of searching Him out… Proverbs 25:2 (ESV), “It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.”

The Tabernacle of Moses is one of the most remarkable phenomena of Scripture. The fact that God dedicates about 13 chapters of the book of Exodus to the Tabernacle indicates it has tremendous importance… we are talking about that and more today.

If you want to watch the powerful message “Church & Revival Pt8: Tabernacles” on Facebook-

A total of 60 chapters in both Testaments reveal the purpose, the provision, and the pattern for the Mosaic Tabernacle. Contained in this OT “object lesson” is every vital New Testament doctrine without which God’s kingdom and end-time people cannot properly understand His “Eternal Purposes.”

The Tabernacle of Moses is the “grandfather clause” of knowing and understanding the holy scriptures. It is filled with prophetic symbols of the “better things” to come in the New Testament Gospel (mentioned 13 times in Hebrews).

With a working knowledge of this “divine pattern,” it enables you to better fully comprehend the Word of God.

There is a pathway to His Presence: You must get into the Holy of Holies!

The way into perfection, to maturity, to completeness and to fulfillment is “The Way” into the holiest (this is the place of His Presence), which unfolds in the book of Hebrews. Here we see that it is scriptural to use the Tabernacle as our pattern in seeking God.

The Very phrase “the way into the holiest (Hebrews 9:8) is taken from the type or pattern of the Tabernacle:

Hebrews 8:4-5, “For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when He was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Right there in verse 5 are the words that indicate that the Tabernacle is our example, or “the copy and shadow of heavenly things.” It is a material reality that reflects an unfolding spiritual truth.

Then in Hebrews 9:23-24 it’s mentioned again… “Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.  For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but unto heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”

The Tabernacle reveals a pattern of the way into the Presence of God. Exodus 25:1 (NAS). “Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me…”

God followed this request with a detailed plan of a Tabernacle (tent) and its furnishings that would establish the “Pattern” for man’s approach unto God. There is an absolutely prescribed way of access into the holiest, and it’s revealed to us in terms of the various divisions and the various items of furniture along the way. Details do matter to God…

The Tabernacle was a structure consisting of 3 main sections:

Outer Court,

Holy Place (behind the first veil or curtain),

and the Holy of Holies, behind the 2nd veil or curtain.

It was a Triune structure: 1 Structure with 3 areas. The Structure was significant in many ways, it depicts the nature of God: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. It depicted the nature of the heavenlies.

Scripture refers to Paul being caught up into the third heaven (2 Corinthians 12:2). It also depicted the nature of man – body, soul, and spirit.

THERE WAS A NEED for THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES:

  1. So that God may DWELL among His people
  2. So that God may TEACH His people of His Holiness
  3. So that God may Teach His people of their SINFULNESS
  4. So that God might Teach His people to APPROACH HIM BY SACRIFICE

The place where The Presence and Power of God are manifested must be one of His own construction and ordering. Remember, those that worship God, must worship Him in “spirit and truth.” Your spirit has One Supreme Function – To relate to God…

It is not the soul or the body that must worship God, but the spirit.
