Come Up Higher...
A New Teaching Article On Pursuing God's Presence
Without the Spirit of God dwelling in our hearts, we are empty vessels with functional parts that we don’t understand. The inner ache that so many feel from deep within is an invitation from Jesus Christ to experience life & fellowship in a “higher place.”
We’re all born with unique abilities and talents. But without God’s presence dwelling within by faith in Christ Jesus, we are blind. This is dangerous because if the enemy can distort your identity, he can steal your destiny.
When we have God’s Spirit dwelling within, we have everything that pertains to life and godliness. Within every Christian, there is a “secret place”.. a sanctuary we must prepare for the Lord.
The holy of holies in the temple in the Old Testament was a type and shadow of the promise of the indwelling of the Spirit of God within the heart of man that would be given under the New Covenant.
Deep within you is God’s dwelling place.. His habitation. The more you understand who you really are IN CHRIST, the easier it becomes to be who you are in Christ.
“God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich & glorious secret inside & out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our message.”
(Col 1:27 Message)
God’s presence contains everything you need. The mystery held back from the beginning of time has been revealed and it is this: “Christ in you, the hope of glory!”
Without the presence of Christ within us, we can do nothing. But when Jesus lives in us and through us by our faith in Him, we can do anything! Incredible possibilities open up once we understand that this Christ of God lives in us just as completely as we live in our home. He wants to inhabit me, prepare me, & use me just as completely as I do my own house.
God is leading His Church into unprecedented things, unheard of things.. WHICH HE has revealed to them in their Spirit. Are we going to be a part of what comes next?
In the world today, we are coming to the end of an era; a carnal, fleshly era in which people felt that they could and should live by the natural principles of the flesh. The faith of people in the system of flesh has been shattered and now everyone is looking for more. Satan is pulling people into the demonic aspects of the supernatural now more than ever because the pull to something greater is so strong.
But we who are followers of CHRIST are being transformed by a dimension of the Spirit that dwells beyond the reach of the “natural,” beyond the reach of the faulty, flawed system of flesh. You are being transformed by a dimension of the mighty Spirit of the “I AM” who spoke the world into motion and Who created everything out of nothing. We are in a jurisdiction that the system of “FLESH & BLOOD” cannot enter & has NO AUTHORITY IN.
God is drawing His people upward into this kind of life in God. It ‘s the ASCENDED LIFE. .. far above all principality and power and might (Eph 1:21).
When a plane is flying in a storm, what does the pilot do? He raises the altitude of the plane so that it flies above the storm. He goes higher so he can fly above the mess! There is a place above the natural circumstances and above the network of demonic powers trying to dominate the atmosphere. It’s found in His presence.
In His presence, we see the storm, the circumstances and everything occurring in a landscape perspective and we are able to act according to knowledge, instead of like a person fighting the air! God will give you wisdom, an irrational instruction, to win the battle in your life. It wont make sense to your natural senses! Job 28:20-21 says this about God’s wisdom:
“Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding? 21 It is hidden from the eyes of all living. It is hidden from the birds of the sky.”
God’s wisdom will be given to you in His presence, away from all distraction where you are high above the storm and the demonic powers, and the rules of the flesh do not apply to you.
We are in a day and age where we cannot fight the battle in the flesh! We cannot use the carnal, fleshly weapons of yesterday. No, we NEED HIS PRESENCE to fill us and take us above the storm, the circumstances and the demonic powers so we can get His wisdom! We are living in the Spirit of Christ, and the Spirit of Christ is living in us, the hope of glory! Please stay with us as we meditate on HIS PRESENCE - the holy, awesome, life-giving Spirit of God – by which we overthrow ALL principalities and powers when we seek Him!
